Service Specific Terms & Conditions – Hotlink eSIM (“SSTC”)

Version [30 November 2024]

    1. Hotlink eSIM is a digital and embedded SIM provided by Maxis that allows you to activate a mobile plan without having to use a physical SIM to connect to Maxis’ Network.
    2. You: Person(s) signing up/subscribing to Hotlink and opt for Hotlink eSIM.
    3. The use of Hotlink eSIM is subject to the General Terms & Conditions (“GTC”) at https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditions/general/, this Service Specific Terms & Conditions – Hotlink eSIM (“SSTC”), Maxis Fair Usage Policy at https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditions/maxis-fair-usage-policy/ (“FUP”), and any other applicable terms and conditions, all at https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditions/.
    4. Capitalised terms herein have the same meaning as defined in the GTC.

       

    5. Any conflict or inconsistency between this SSTC, the GTC and Summary Terms and Conditions (“STC”), shall be construed in the following order of precedence: (a) SSTC; (b) GTC; and (c) STC.
    6. We reserve the rights without liability, to revise this SSTC, Service and our pricing. Where reasonably practicable, we will give you reasonable advance notice of such changes and all previous versions of our user guides or leaflets will be superseded. You accept you are responsible for regularly reviewing information on Hotlink eSIM at https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditions/services/esim/, including changes to the Agreement. Your continued use of Hotlink eSIM (after the Effective Date of any revision/change to the terms and conditions of Services) shall constitute unconditional acceptance by you of such revisions/changes and you shall be bound by the same. If you do not accept such revisions/changes, you may discontinue using the Hotlink eSIM, failing which you are assumed to have accepted the said revisions/changes.
    1. To be eligible for Hotlink eSIM, you must have an active subscription of any Hotlink Postpaid plan or Hotlink Prepaid plan.
    2. Hotlink eSIM is not available for existing customers with multisim services.
    1. Hotlink eSIM is available through the following channels:
      1. Walk-in to any Maxis centres or Maxis Exclusive Partners; and
      2. Hotlink app.
    1. Hotlink eSIM is free of charge. However, prevailing charges for eSIM replacement may apply and you must keep and maintain the same mobile number when you request for eSIM replacement from Maxis.
    1. You must use a mobile device that is compatible with Hotlink eSIM. The list of compatible mobile devices for Hotlink eSIM include but not limited to:-
      1. Apple iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max;
      2. Apple iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max;
      3. Apple iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XR, XS series with iOS 12.1.1 or onwards;
      4. Apple iPhone SE (2020);
      5. Apple Watch Series 5, 6*, 7* (GPS + Cellular);
      6. Apple iPad, iPad Air, iPad Mini & iPad Pro; (Wi-Fi + Cellular; 2019 and 2020);
      7. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G and Z Fold3 5G;
      8. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Fold & Fold2;
      9. Samsung Galaxy S20 & S21 series;
      10. Samsung Galaxy Note20 series;
      11. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 (LTE);
      12. Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G;
      13. Oppo Find X5 Pro 5G;
      14. Honor Magic4 Pro;
      15. Huawei P40 & P40 Pro;
      16. Huawei Watch 2 & 3; or
      17. such other mobile phone or mobile device as may be determined by us from time to time. Please visit Hotlink eSIM website at https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditions/services/esim/ for more information.
    2. Hotlink eSIM cannot be removed from the Mobile Device, however it can be activated and deactivated from your Mobile Device in the event the Mobile Device is being sold, lost or stolen. Please contact our customer service on #123 for deactivation of Hotlink eSIM. Charges may apply.
    3. In the event you port out from our Network to another mobile operator’s network or in the event you terminate the use of Hotlink eSIM, the Hotlink eSIM will be removed and connectivity to our network via the Hotlink eSIM will be lost. eSIM will need to be re-setup on the new mobile network where supported.
    4. The Hotlink eSIM is non-transferable, whether by operation of law or otherwise, either to any other person, entity or account.
    1. We reserve the rights at any time, without being liable to you or any third party, to interrupt, bar, suspend, restrict the eSIM for such time as we see fit or terminate, discontinue or disconnect the Service if your usage:
      1. shows excessive usage or placing unusual burdens on our Network;
      2. is for unlawful activities or for suspected fraudulent activities;
      3. is for commercial/non-personal purposes; or
      4. you fail to make full payment of Hotlink plan/services subscribed by you.
    1. In no event shall Maxis, its related and affiliated corporations, agencies and representatives be liable to you or to anyone else for any loss or injury or any direct, indirect, special, exemplary, consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever, whether in contract, negligence or in tort, arising out of or in connection with the Hotlink eSIM or Services.
    2. The terms and conditions stated herein shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
